Severe storms with damaging wind gusts over 70mph rolled across northern Kansas ushering in the first bit of Fall. Storms were responsible for flipping a semi truck on I-70 near Ellis, Kansas, severely injuring the driver.
Russell, Kansas airport recorded a 72mph wind gust at 6:07pm as the storms marched along I-70.
