Northwestern Kansas documenting the severe thunderstorm that headed northeast out of Burlington, Colorado.
We headed west and than east out of Goodland, Kansas because the storm had a beautiful back anvil on it and looked to be back building. We decided to take a few gravel/dirt roads out of Kanorado, Kansas. As we headed north towards the storm we noticed that there was a lot of dirt and sand being pulled into to the updraft so we decided to get up close and take a look. The dust and dirt band was very dense. After documenting this I drove through the denseness. There were areas where you could not see in front of you. Than once out of this dirt and sand inflow we were able to see a little bit of structure before the storm went tornado warned.
