A rare late-season storm system brought a line of severe storms across south-central Kansas with strong winds, torrential rain, and even some hail. A wind gust to 61MPH was measured at Eisenhower Airport (Wichita’s Airport) and a 59MPH was measured at the location of this video package at West St & Central Ave. This line also brought down power lines south of the city.
A Severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Sedgwick County, including Wichita, just after 6PM for high winds.
