The first major winter storm of the season slammed central Kansas Thursday morning dumping massive sized flakes and accumulating several inches in a couple hours Thursday morning. K-DOT crews had plenty of notice and did a great ob with the roads, but some drivers still had issues. Near white-out conditions at times lead to hazardous travel on rural highways around the town of Great Bend where 4 inches of snow accumulated in just over 2 hours.
